Nickel Creek played songs from their new album, Celebrants, for the latest “Saturday Sessions” performance on CBS Mornings. The LP, the trio’s first album in nine years, came out one day prior via Thirty Tigers.

Mandolinist Chris Thile, violinist Sara Watkins and guitarist Sean Watkins recorded the long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s A Dotted Line with producer Eric Valentine at RCA Studio A in Nashville. Celebrants finds the three-piece joined by bassist Mike Elizondo, who also backed Nickel Creek on CBS Mornings.

Nickel Creek offered up the Sara Watkins-led “Where The Long Line Leads” to start their “Saturday Sessions” appearance. The acclaimed trio and Elizondo also performed fellow Celebrants cuts “Holding Pattern” and “To The Airport” for this past Saturday’s CBS Mornings. An extensive tour in support of the album begins on April 15 in Cincinnati.
