Nickel Creek Adds 2023 Headline Tour Dates

New shows include stops in Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas and many other cities.

Nickel Creek expanded their first headlining tour since 2014 into the fall. The trio’s upcoming trek comes in support of Celebrants, a new album set for release this Friday, March 24 via Thirty Tigers.

The acclaimed three-piece features violinist Sara Watkins, mandolinist Chris Thile and guitarist Sean Watkins. Celebrants marks Nickel Creek’s first new album since 2014’s A Dotted Line.

Nickel Creek’s initial new dates of the run come in Oregon with concerts in Portland on July 7 and Bend on July 8. Reno, Nevada’s Grand Sierra Resort hosts the trio on July 11 with the venue to be announced for a performance the following night in Salt Lake City. Additional July concerts have been added in St. Paul, Detroit, Toronto, Raleigh, Wilmington (North Carolina), Union Hall (Virginia) and Lafayette (New York).

The fall leg of the tour will begin at Oakland’s Fox Theater on October 6. Next up is a previously announced show in Santa Barbara on October 8 along with two nights in Los Angeles on October 10 and 11. From there the trio will bring the excursion to San Diego, Mesa (Arizona), Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Denver, Salina (Kansas) and Dallas. Nickel Creek are currently expected to end the tour in Austin on October 21.

Tickets for the new dates go on sale to the general public this Friday, March 24 at 10 a.m. local venue time. A presale starts tomorrow (Wednesday, March 22) at 10 a.m. local venue times.
