Guitarist Nick Cassarino is setting up shop at New York City’s oldest rock club, The Bitter End, to record a live album. The longtime NYC resident and co-founding member of The Nth Power will kick off the live recording series this Friday, May 8 with additional shows planned for Thursday, June 25 and Saturday, July 18.
“I’ve basically been living in New York for 20 years, gigging and working out unique arrangements of covers and original music. My first Nick Cassarino Trio gig was at the Bitter End 16 years ago,” Cassarino tells JamBase.
“I wanted to go back to one of the places I started at and do a live solo recording series. Paul Rizzo at the Bitter End was happy to help,” the guitarist added.
Nick Cassarino’s shows on May 8 and June 25 are solo affairs. The last one on July 18 will feature his trio. TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik is sponsoring the recording with a custom microphone package.
While tickets for Nick Cassarino’s Friday night show at The Bitter End are on sale now, tickets for the June and July performances will go on sale in the weeks to come.
