NFL Taps Local Musicians To Perform At Super Bowl LIX Pregame In New Orleans
Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, Ledisi and Lauren Daigle will be part of the festivities at the Superdome.

Local musicians Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, Ledisi and Lauren Daigle will perform as part of the pregame festivities for Super Bowl LIX. The NFL will host Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9.
Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty and Ledisi are natives of New Orleans and Lauren Daigle is a native of nearby Lafayette, Louisiana.
“We’re honored to work with this year’s pregame lineup to celebrate the rich musical legacy of New Orleans and the entire state,” said Seth Dudowsky, head of music at the NFL. “The Super Bowl is a rare moment to unite fans around the world, and this year’s performers will bring the energy, soul and vibrant sounds of the region to a global stage, as we kickoff Super Bowl LIX with a celebration to remember.”
Batiste will perform the National Anthem before the start of the game. “America the Beautiful” will be performed by Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle. “Lift Every Voice and Sing” will be sung by Ledisi.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar will perform the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. Lamar addressed his selection to perform at the game held in New Orleans, which will take place in the hometown of rapper Lil Wayne, on his recently released surprise album, GNX. Referencing Wayne’s 2008 album on the GNX opening track, “wacced out murals,” Lamar raps:
Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud
Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down
Super Bowl LIX will broadcast live on FOX.
