New York City’s New Pier 17 Venue To Host STS9

Jamtronica act STS9 will headline The Rooftop At Pier 17 in New York City on September 28 and 29. Pier 17 is one of NYC’s newest venues and is located in Manhattan’s Seaport District.
The entire 2018 Pier 17 Rooftop Concert Series has been announced and spans 21 shows between July 28 and October 12. Jon Batiste With The Dap-Kings will kick off the action at the venue with a free concert on July 28. Kings Of Leon, Michael McDonald, Diana Ross, Slash and Thievery Corporation are among the other acts set to play Pier 17 this year. While the opening show is free, tickets will be needed and go up for grabs to the general public on Friday, May 18 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.

Live Nation has programmed the lineup for the venue in partnership with the Howard Hughes Corporation as per Billboard. Capacity for the rooftop venue will be 2,400 for seated shows and 3,400 for standing general admission concerts. “We knew it was important to put together a group of artists that accurately reflected the diverse musical landscape of this vibrant city. Pier 17 is truly a one-of-a-kind venue that has something for everyone to enjoy,” Stacie George, senior vice president of Live Nation, New York said in a statement according to Billboard. “Live Nation is committed to bringing New Yorkers the very best in live entertainment, and we look forward to an amazing summer of rooftop events.”
STS9 will be supported by Papadosio on September 28 and Slow Magic on September 30. Tickets for both shows go on sale to the general public starting on Friday, May 18 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.
