The New Orleans Suspects Equipment Stolen From Outside Hometown Venue

In a story that has become all too common in recent years, The New Orleans Suspects recently had nearly all of their equipment stolen from their tour van and trailer. The Crescent City-based band are now reaching out for donations to replace everything that was lost.

The funk band’s van was parked around the corner from the Maple Leaf Bar in their hometown this past week, when the incident happened that has now left them without their gear. The five-piece act set up a GoFundMe page, which is currently live, in an effort to raise money to help offset the costs involved replacing as much of their equipment as possible.

A message on the donation page reads, “We had nearly every piece of equipment stolen from our van/trailer this week. From keyboards to guitar amps to Willie Green’s Neville Bros custom drum kit…these thieves seemed to have gotten just about everything we own. We are attempting to raise money to replace as much of the gear as possible. We are overwhelmed by the response from friends and family we have gotten in the last 24 hours.”

The band has also posted the following to their Facebook page about the incident:

Hello, friends. As many have heard…we got almost everything we owned stolen out of our van/trailer earlier this week. We are grateful for the outpouring of friends and family that have reached out to try and help us. The link below will take you to a GoFundMe site where you can comment on the situation or donate a couple of bucks if you feel so inclined. Summer is HOT in New Orleans and people tend to do crazy stuff the hotter it gets in the Big Easy…Stealing from hard working musicians is pretty low…Thanks for all the love and support. We intend to use any funds raised to buy replacement equipment like drums, keyboards, guitar amps, merch, etc…
