Author Jürgen Fauth combined his love of Phish and creative writing to create the new mystery thriller THE ASHAKIRAN TAPE: HEAD CASES Vol. 1. The e-book from the author of Kino is currently available via Amazon.com.

The setting for THE ASHAKIRAN TAPE: HEAD CASES Vol. 1 is Phish’s 2009 visit to Nikon at Jones Beach in Wantagh, New York. Quentin Pfeiffer attends the newly-reunited quartet’s return to Long Island and this “hippie sleuth” is drawn into a search for a millionaire skipper of a drug-drenched luxury yacht who has gone missing. THE ASHAKIRAN TAPE: HEAD CASES Vol. 1 was inspired by the writing of Raymond Chandler and is said to take readers “deep into the spiraling ecstasy of Phish’s epic shows and the seductive underworld of the obsessive fans following them.”

In addition to penning 2012’s Kino, Fauth also wrote last year’s Raves, a collection of movie reviews. While the book is currently available as an e-book, a paperback edition is expected to follow. Head here to read an excerpt of Jürgen’s Phish-related mystery.
