6 New Albums Out Today From Madonna, Margo Price, Charley Crockett & More

Madonna released her 15th studio album, Confessions II, via Warner Records. A long-awaited sequel to 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor, the album was produced by Stuart Price, who co-produced the original, along with Martin Garrix, Cirkut and Andrew Watt. The new album includes guest appearances from Sabrina Carpenter, Feid, Stromae and Madonna’s daughter Lola Leon. Like its predecessor, the album plays as a continuous mix.

“When Stuart Price and I first started working on this record, this was our manifesto: We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies,” Madonna said. “These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years — they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect — with your wounds, with your fragility. To rave is an art. It’s about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people.”

Margo Price shared a new mixtape, Days Of Unrest, through Loma Vista Recordings. Price shared a cover of Woody Guthrie’s poignant “Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos),” featuring Joan Baez. “Deportee” has been part of many of Price’s recent live setlists. The track features additional contributions from Memphis Mariachi, who appear on the traditional “De Colores,” which Price has also played live in concert of late. Also pulling from her current live songlist, Days Of Unrest includes covers of Bob Dylan’s “Maggie’s Farm” and Blaze Foley’s “Oval Room” among its nine tracks. Veteran singer-songwriter Billy Swan joins Price on a recording of “Long Haired Country Girl” by Charlie Daniels. Price shared this note regarding the unexpected release:

“It seems like so many of us have forgotten the message on the [S]tatue of [L]iberty that says, ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.’ America is a country built by immigrants and our freedom is precious.

“I hope these songs may open blind eyes to the cruelty that is happening in our country right now and find compassion in your heart. And in the words of the great John Prine, ‘I really love America. I just don’t know how to get there anymore.’”

Clovis returns.

Texas country singer-songwriter Charley Crockett re-released his 17th studio album, Clovis. Co-produced by Crockett and Grammy-winning collaborator Shooter Jennings, the album was written and recorded with Crockett’s band the Blue Drifters at Norman Petty Studios in Clovis, New Mexico — where Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and Waylon Jennings recorded some of their biggest hits in the 1950s. Crockett and Jennings wrote 12 of the album’s 14 tracks on site. The instrumental title track and a cover of Johnny Cash’s “Don’t Take Your Guns to Town” round out the set. Originally released independently in April via Crockett’s $10 Cowboy imprint before being pulled from streaming amid his departure from Island Records, Clovis returns to all platforms via Atlantic Outpost.

“Happy 4th of July week y’all,” Crockett wrote. “Sometimes you need to fight. Goliath vs. Goliath. On this 250th birthday for America, I’m reminded that freedom is something you continue to fight for. A war that never ends. Today, we win one battle. Clovis is out 4th of July weekend on Atlantic Outpost. Let’s win.”

Low Cut Connie, Philadelphia-based musician Adam Weiner, released a self-described protest album, Livin In The USA. Weiner captured Livin In The USA on analog 1-inch tape. Each of the 10 tracks was recorded in a single take. Weiner took inspiration from albums by Prince, Sly & The Family Stone, Bruce Springsteen, Marvin Gaye and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Last February, Weiner was among the first musicians to back out of performing at The Kennedy Center. That experience, along with traveling the United States on tour, informed the lyrical content of the title track. A portion of Weiner’s extensive mission statement regarding Livin In The USA follows:

“I made a protest album about the times we are living through in America 2026. It’s called Livin In The USA. I made it because I am disgusted to see our country descend into an authoritarian hell a moral vacuum and a place where art does not lead the cultural conversation.

“This album, believe it or not, is also a party album because I refuse to let these motherfuckers steal our art and steal our joy It is time to reclaim it.

“This country goddamn right invented rock n roll, hip hop, jazz, R&B.. Music with soul communicates on a level that no algorithm or tech bro or artificial intelligence or political machinery can ever understand or contain. America created these table-flipping artforms.

“Rock ‘n’ roll is a table-flipping artform. It’s time to flip the table again.”

Atlanta rapper Ken Carson released his fifth studio album, xperiment, via Opium/Interscope Records. The follow-up to 2025’s Billboard 200-topping More Chaos features guest appearances from Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Destroy Lonely and 2hollis.

Swedish singer-songwriter Jens Lekman released Other People, Other Wedding Songs via Secretly Society. The album collects stripped-down acoustic versions of wedding songs originally written for David Levithan’s novel Songs For Other People’s Weddings, in which protagonist J composes wedding songs as a service to couples. Several of the tracks appeared in fuller arrangements on Lekman’s 2024 album Songs For Other People’s Weddings; here they are presented as intimate companions to the book, sequenced to be played chapter by chapter as the story unfolds.
