Last night Neil Young and Promise of The Real played their first show of 2016 at Théâtre Mogador in Paris. The gig was a private show for Risk Managers at Carmignac, an asset management firm run by billionaire Eduardo Carmignac as per Thrasher’s Wheat’s report. Young started with an acoustic set that included the live debut of a song found on a 1970 studio album which continues a trend of Neil digging deep into his repertoire that was prominent in 2015 performances.
The ninth song of the evening on Monday night was “Till The Morning Comes,” a short track found on Neil Young’s third studio album After The Gold Rush. Young played piano on the live debut of the tune and was backed by Promise Of The Real. Watch fan-shot footage of the debut as well as the first “Cripple Creek Ferry” since 1997 and just the fourth ever captured by Rocker Paris:
Young & POTR’s concert ended with six electric songs including a “Fuckin’ Up” finale featuring Carmignac on guest vocals. Neil Young & Promise Of The Real return to Europe later this year for an extensive tour. As of press time, an appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is the only confirmed North American appearance for the group.
