ALO w. TAUK :: 03.17.18 :: The Fillmore :: San Francisco
ALO concluded the 12th annual Tour d’Amour at The Fillmore in San Francisco on Saturday night. The night’s theme was “Flora” and the evening began with a set from TAUK. Guitarist Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz led the quartet through “Push” to open ALO’s first of two sets. Once again, Ezra Lipp was behind the kit as he had been for the entire run. Other highlights from the foursome’s first set included keyboardist Zach Gill fronting fan-favorite “Blew Out The Walls,” a fitting rendition of “The Gardener,” the ever-funky “Girl, I Wanna Lay You Down” and a cover of Rick James’ “Mary Jane” featuring members of TAUK.
“Maria” was ALO’s choice to begin this year’s final set at The Fillmore. ALO followed the extended “Maria” with “Roses & Clover” and the beloved “Try.” Gill later shined on “Room For Bloomin’,” another fantastic choice on Flora Night. After performing a number of Elton John, Paul Simon and Blondie covers earlier in the Tour d’Amour run, the quartet treated fans in San Francisco to a handful of Beatles tunes. ALO strung together the Abbey Road medley of “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight” and “Her Majesty” into their own “Barbeque” to close out the set. The foursome returned to the stage decorated in flora to say farewell with an encore of “Hot Tub.” Check out a gallery of photos captured by Susan Weiand on Saturday night:
