The National Announces New Album, Shares Single & Details World Tour

The National has finally announced the follow-up to 2013’s Trouble Will Find Me as Sleep Well Beast is coming out on September 8 via 4AD. Aaron Dessner produced the LP with co-production by Bryce Dessner and Matt Berninger. Today, the band issued the video for the first single off the album and announced a tour.

Longtime collaborator Peter Katis mixed Sleep Well Beast which was recorded at Aaron Dessner’s Hudson Valley, New York studio, Long Pond, as well as at sessions in Berlin, Paris and Los Angeles. “The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness” is the first single off the 12-track effort. After a few festival appearances this summer, The National embarks on a European Tour in September. Then, in October, they play a handful of U.S. dates before returning to Europe. The National has additional North American dates scheduled for late November and December.
