My Morning Jacket Performs ‘Climbing The Ladder’ On ‘Late Night’

My Morning Jacket served as the musical guest on Thursday’s episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers. The band offered a remotely recorded performance of “Climbing The Ladder.”

“Climbing The Ladder” appears on MMJ’s 2020 studio album, The Waterfall II. The 10-track album was recorded in 2014 at the Panoramic House in Stinson Beach, California during the same sessions that yielded 2015’s The Waterfall.

Last night’s rendition marked the band’s first public performance of “Climbing The Ladder.” The reggae-tinged number featured a strong guitar solo from Jim James and Carl Broemel on pedal steel.
