My Bloody Valentine mastermind Kevin Shields is among confirmed performers at the upcoming Norður og Niður music festival in Iceland hosted by Sigur Rós. According to the inaugural event’s website, Shields is planning to release a new My Bloody Valentine album.
The Norður og Niður website posted a bio for Shields that revealed he “is also working on material for a new My bloody Valentine album to be released in 2018.” The new record would be the follow-up to 2013’s mbv.
The bio also states that Shields is at work completing “all analog vinyl” editions My Bloody Valentine’s 1988 debut album Isn’t Anything and 1991’s landmark LP Loveless. Shields previously spoke about the pair of remastered reissues in a 2013 interview with Pitchfork.
