Sierra Ferrell recently hopped on Mumford & Sons’ tour to provide support for the final shows of the band’s 2025 North American Tour supporting their album, Rushmere. Ferrell followed her opening sets by joining Mumford & Sons for performances of Townes Van Zandt’s “If I Needed You.”
Ferrell’s time on tour with Mumford & Sons began last week in at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, where she first accompanied the group on “If I Needed You.” Country performer Lainey Wilson also took the stage with the band that night in Music City as well.
Subsequent stops at Austin’s Moody Center, Omaha’s BOK Center and last night at CHI Health Center Omaha also saw Ferrell brought out for “If I Needed You.” Released in 1972 on the album The Late Great Townes Van Zandt, the frequently covered song was later popularized by Emmylou Harris and Don Williams.
Mumford & Sons resume their tour next month in Europe. Ferrell will support a portion of the run.
