Mumford & Sons Bust Out Bob Dylan Birthday Cover In Burgettstown

By Andy Kahn May 25, 2017 9:04 am PDT

Yesterday was Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan’s 76th birthday. To mark the occasion, Mumford & Sons busted out a cover co-written by the iconic singer-songwriter during their performance last night at KeyBank Pavilion in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.

The band opened their main set with the recently debuted “Blind Leading The Blind” and later offered the fellow newcomer “If I Say.” The set also featured career-spanning song selections such as “Wilder Mind,” “Lover Of The Light” and “Dust Bowl Dance,” before Mumford & Sons gathered down stage around a single microphone for a rendition of their “Cold Arms.” While in the same setup the group dusted off a cover of “Wagon Wheel,” which was partially written by Dylan and Old Crow Medicine Show’s Ketch Secor.

The band followed with an encore featuring “Snake Eyes,” a take on Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” with Kevin Garrett sitting-in, “I Will Wait” and “The Wolf.” Footage of Mumford & Sons’ first purported cover of “Wagon Wheel” since 2012 was captured by craig c, watch it as well as other highlights below:
