Mudcrutch Covers Bob Dylan’s ‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’

Mudcrutch – the pre-The Heartbreakers band fronted by Tom Petty on bass with fellow Heartbreakers Benmont Tench and guitarist Mike Campbell as well as guitarist Tom Leadon and drummer Randall Marsh continued their reunion tour with a stop at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. on Monday night. The concert in support of their long-awaited, just-released second LP 2 featured the tour debut of a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.”

The second song of Petty’s Traveling Wilburys band mate to enter the Mudcrutch repertoire this tour along with Dylan’s “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35” which they performed in Chicago, the band followed up Monday’s performance with another rendition in Philadelphia on Wednesday night at The Fillmore Philadelphia.
