Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway shared a holiday single, “Fairytale of New York.” The Pogues cover features Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show.
“Fairytale of New York,” penned by The Pogues’ Shane MacGowan and Jem Finer, follows the release of guitarist Molly Tuttle's album So Long Little Miss Sunshine, much of which she wrote with Secor. Molly detailed The Pogues cover via a social media post:
“We first covered this one after Shane MacGowan passed away in 2023. This song, that originally features Kirsty MacColl, is one of my all time favorite Christmas duets. It will always remind me of family trips to Ireland as a kid, driving around the beautiful countryside listening to The Pogues on repeat. We recorded our version last year after performing it at my Guild Theatre holiday residency. I’m so excited that it is finally out in the world on all platforms!”
