moe. Welcomes Guests & Covers Prince, Talking Heads, David Bowie & Pink Floyd At Summer Camp

Upstate New York jam act moe. played a pair of guest and cover-filled sets at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois on Saturday as part of the 16th annual Summer Camp Music Festival. The band debuted a number of covers and welcomed a bevy of musicians to share the Moonshine Stage with them on Saturday.

moe. honored a pair of legendary artists we’ve lost this year during their first set. The band covered “Fame” by David Bowie and later unveiled their rendition of Prince’s “Purple Rain” featuring members of Fishbone including vocalist/saxophonist Angelo Moore. Drummer Vinnie Amico also fronted the group on a cover of “Stressed Out” by Twenty One Pilots. Guitarist Chuck Garvey led the group through their first-ever cover of Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” to open the second set and later debuted a take on Talking Heads’ “Making Flippy Floppy.” The String Cheese Incident keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth sat-in for a large swath of the show including the Floyd and Talking Heads covers. Umphrey’s has been known to cover “Shine On” and “Making Flippy Floppy,” so we’ll see if the Chicago rockers return the favor by debuting moe. cover staples at the fest later today. moe. also treated fans to the old school version of “Lazarus” as part of the second set.

The Summer Camp Music Festival ends today in Chillicothe, Illinois.
