moe. completed an emotional, two-night, guest-filled run at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on Saturday. The show saw moe. performing a second time without guitarist Chuck Garvey who is recovering from a recent stroke. The band welcomed Strangefolk/Assembly Of Dust guitarist Reid Genauer, Percy Hill keyboardist Nate Wilson and Schleigho guitarist Suke Cerulo to stage, and also brought out longtime friend, guitarist Kirin Rogers, as well as Garvey’s nephew, guitarist John Carlo Pecheone, and bassist Rob Derhak’s daughter, vocalist Emma Derhak.

Like the night prior, Derhak, guitarist Al Schnier, drummer Vinnie Amico and percussionist Jim Loughlin placed one of Garvey’s guitars on the stage. Genauer and (his former AOD bandmate) Wilson were aboard for the opening “All Roads Lead To Home.” Pecheone then came on for “Akimbo,” while Wilson — who performed nearly the entire show — was the lone guest on a seamless stringing together of “Big World,” “Ricky Marten” and “Captain America.” Pecheone was back for “Zed Naught Z,” exiting ahead of “LL3.” Rogers made his lone appearance of the night, joining in on the set-ending “Moth.”

Cerulo and Wilson joined moe. for at the start of set two, which launched via “Blue Jeans Pizza.” Next up was “New Hope For The New Year,” before a sequence of “Tubing The River Styx” into “The Pit” into “Silver Sun.” The second half also featured takes on “White Lightning Turpentine,” and a pairing of “Four” with “Spine Of A Dog” that wrapped up the second set. Emma Derhak lent her voice to “Spine Of A Dog,” as well as the encore rendition of “Okayalright.”
