moe. Covers ‘The Wire’ Theme Song By Tom Waits In Baltimore

Last night, jam-rockers moe. completed a two-night stand at Rams Head Live in Baltimore. The city of Baltimore provided the setting for the critically-acclaimed HBO series The Wire that ran from 2002 – 2008. moe. debuted a cover of The Wire’s theme song as part of Saturday night’s second set.

The Wire’s theme song “Way Down In The Hole” was written and first recorded by Tom Waits for his 1987 album Frank’s Wild Year. Each season of The Wire utilized a version of “Way Down In The Hole” performed by a different artist with Waits, The Neville Brothers, The Blind Boys Of Alabama and Steve Earle among those contributing versions of the tune.

moe. fit a cover of “Way Down In The Hole” within last night’s second set. Guitarist Al Schnier handled vocals on the moe. debut of “Way Down In The Hole.” Saturday’s show also featured the 2016 debuts of “Waiting For The Punchline” and “Cathedral” as well as a first set “Meat.”
