UPDATE 3/5 4:45 p.m. PT: Mike Gordon and a few of his bandmates are expected to appear on CBS This Morning: Saturday this Saturday, March 8 at some point between 7-9 a.m.(ET) to perform songs off Overstep according to Mike’s website.

It had been nearly two years since Mike Gordon played a show with his long-running, five-piece solo band. Last night the group finally kicked off their first extensive U.S. tour since 2011 with a sold-out, two-set show at The Westcott Theater in Syracuse, NY.

The band, which finds the Phish bassist joined by percussionist Craig Myers, guitarist Scott Murawski, drummer Todd Isler and keyboardist Tom Cleary, filled the majority of the setlist with songs from Gordon’s three most recent studio releases -2008’s Green Sparrow (“Traveled Too Far,” “Jaded,” “Andelman’s Yard”, “Dig Further Down”), 2010’s Moss (“Fire From A Stick”) and the just-released Overstep LP (“Ether,” “Say Something,” “Face,” “Paint” and “Peel”). Mike’s group also worked in versions of “Sugar Shack,” which Phish recorded for Joy in 2009, Max Creek’s “Cruel World,” “Hap Nappy” from the GRAB days and more. Both Murawski and Gordon fired up neon lights on their guitars towards the end of the first set that they played while bouncing up and down:

Here’s the official setlist via Mike-Gordon.com:

Set One: Face, Say Something, Cruel World, Sugar Shack, Mississippi, Traveled Too Far, Crumblin’ Bones, Dig Further Down, Jumping

Set Two: Paint, Ether, Jones, Fire From A Stick, Peel, Mrs. Peel, Angatta, Hap Nappy

Encore: Andelman’s Yard

In other Mike Gordon news, the bassist brought a few members of the group to the CBS Studios in New York City this morning to tape a performance that is expected to air on a future Saturday edition of CBS This Morning in advance of tonight’s sold-out show at Webster Hall.

Gordon also shared the second installment of the Overstep Sessions mini-documentary:
