Mike Gordon Joins Grace Potter In Burlington

Grace Potter played the first of two consecutive headlining performances at the Grand Point North Festival being held at Waterfront Park in Burlington, Vermont Saturday night. During the guest-filled set last night the multi-instrumentalist/vocalist brought out Phish bassist Mike Gordon.
Gordon was on hand after performing at the festival earlier in the evening with his solo band featuring Scott Murawski, Robert Walter, John Kimock and Craig Myers. The bass player joined Potter for a take on Harry Nilsson’s “Jump Into The Fire.” Potter’s set also included a guest appearance by country star Kenny Chesney who performed the duet he recorded with Potter, “Wild Child.” The “Burning Down The House” finale featured dancers, fellow festival performers Amy Helm & The Handsome Strangers, Shakey Graves, Odessa, Madaila and more joining in on the Talking Heads cover.

Potter headlines again tonight after Grand Point North Festival appearances by The Flaming Lips, Greensky Bluegrass, Marco Benevento, Soule Monde and others.
