A new event put together by The Bluegrass Situation, Goldenvoice and the Jerry Garcia Family will honor the late Grateful Dead guitarist next month. Jubilee: A Celebration Of Jerry Garcia will be held Friday, March 30 at the Theatre At The Ace Hotel in Los Angeles.
Look for a wide range of artists who consider themselves Garcia fans to celebrate his songbook and legacy. The Bluegrass Situation unveiled the list of performers. Among those on the lineup are Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos and Josh Ritter, Amos Lee, Willie Watson, Molly Tuttle, Hiss Golden Messenger, Billy Strings, Jamie Drake, Banditos and many other special guests. The Jubilee House Band will feature Heartbreakers’ keyboardist Benmont Tench along with Sean Watkins, Tyler Chester and Jay Bellerose.
Proceeds will benefit the Rex Foundation, the Jerry Garcia Foundation and the Center for Biological Diversity. TBS has announced a pre-sale using the password “JERRY” via AXS.com. On Friday, February 23, tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. PT.
