Reggae-rockers Michael Franti & Spearhead continued their Stay Human Tour at The Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. Franti and his band are celebrating positivity and the power of connecting with other human beings over the course of the run. The 51-year-old musical icon welcomed guests to share the stage throughout the night including multi-instrumentalist Victoria Canal who he met through Instagram earlier this year and beat-boxer Dustin Thomas. Canal opened the show earlier in the evening followed by a performance featuring Dustin Thomas and his band.
Michael Franti also took a moment during the show to introduce the audience to Brian Banks, a former NFL player who spent five years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Tuesday’s setlist featured a number of songs expected to be on the new album including the title track as well as a bevy of beloved staples such as “The Sound Of Sunshine,” “Hood To Be Alive Today,” “Life Is Better With You” and “Say Hey (I Love You).” Photographer Rob Chapman was on hand in Los Angeles.
