After nearly eight years, Metallica has finally announced another full-scale North American tour. The band detailed 25 dates at stadiums, arenas and festivals between May 10 and August 16. Metallica’s “WorldWired Tour” comes in support of the recently released Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.
Up first for the band is a visit to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Metallica then makes tour stops in Philadelphia, East Rutherford, Uniondale and Boston ahead of an appearance at Rock On The Range in Columbus on May 21. The foursome returns to the road in June for concerts in St. Louis, Denver, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and Chicago.
July finds Metallica visiting Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, Quebec City, Toronto, Montreal and Los Angeles. The tour is currently set to end in August after stops in Phoenix, San Diego, Seattle, Vancouver and Edmonton. Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira will open select dates.
Tickets for the newly announced shows go on sale February 17 after a fan club pre-sale.
