The Wheels Of Soul Tour rolled into the Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia Wednesday night led by headliners Tedeschi Trucks Band. The collaborative evening saw members of the tour’s supporting acts The Marcus King Band and Drive-By Truckers once again joining TTB for onstage collaborations.

Guitarist Marcus King and his band mates were first joined by Susan Tedeschi during their opening set as she added vocals to a cover of Bobby Womack’s “Woman’s Gotta Have It.” King and Tedeschi would share the stage again during TTB’s set, first on a take on the blues classic “Key to the Highway” and then on Joe Tex’s “Show Me.” The Marcus King Band keyboardist DeShawn Alexander accompanied TTB’s Kofi Burbridge during a subsequent performance of “Bound For Glory.”

The collabs continued with DBT’s Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley coming back out to join Derek Trucks and Tedeschi as the four guitarists closed the set with Bob Dylan’s “Gone, Gone, Gone.” Derek and Susan then led their band through a two-song encore comprised of Derek & The Dominoes’ “Tell the Truth” and Trucks’ “Get What You Deserve.”

The Wheels Of Soul Tour’s next stop is on Friday at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, North Carolina. Watch audience-shot video highlights captured by Tom Libera from the Wolf Trap below:
