Medeski Martin & Wood Announce New Album With Alarm Will Sound & Share Single

Avant-groove trio Medeski Martin & Wood and chamber orchestra Alarm Will Sound will issue a new album entitled Omnisphere through MMW’s Indirecto Records label on September 14. The collaborative LP was recorded live at Denver’s The Newman Center in February 2015.

Omnisphere features seven tracks that include original music from members of both groups as well as new arrangements of two songs from Medeski Martin & Wood’s 2004 album End Of The World Party (Just In Case) put together by Alarm Will Sound. “The more we worked together, the more I realized how perfect this is. How they are, for their universe, very much like us,” said keyboardist John Medeski of performing with Alarm Will Sound. “We have a certain connection that’s like family and they’re like a family, so it’s like these two families coming together.”
