Medeski Martin & Cline To Make Debut On Thursday Night

Yesterday Medeski Martin & Wood announced the postponement of a set of 25th anniversary shows scheduled for this coming Tuesday through Thursday at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City due to a medical emergency. Bassist Chris Wood underwent surgery and is currently recovering. Tonight the venue has announced a pair of replacement shows, one of which will see two members of MMW join forces with Wilco guitarist Nels Cline.

Medeski Martin & Cline will play LPR this Thursday, October 20. While Nels has played a handful of shows with Medeski Martin & Wood, Thursday’s show will mark the debut of this particular formation. An announcement of the performance mentions “special guests” will also join the trio with no specific mention of just who they will be. Tickets are on sale now here.

On Wednesday, October 19 Le Poisson Rouge will host sacred steel gospel band The Campbell Brothers with John Medeski. Tickets are on sale now here.
