Singer-songwriter Lilly Hiatt held a hometown concert last night at the Basement East in Nashville. Fellow local resident Margo Price joined Hiatt’s band, guesting on drums on a Neil Young cover and more.

Before welcoming Price to the stage to occupy a second drum kit, Hiatt addressed the audience and described first encountering the fellow singer-songwriter and how Price became one of her first drummers. They then launched into “3 Days” from Hiatt’s 2012 debut album Let Down.

Hiatt also welcomed Nashville native Erin Rae to sit-in for part of Thursday’s show. The night ended with Hiatt performing “Records” from her 2017 album Trinity Lane, which segued into Young’s classic “Rockin’ In The Free World.” Locally-based guest guitarist Brandy Zdan and Price came back onstage at the start of the finale with Price also taking a turn singing one of the “Rocking In The Free World” verses.
