Marco Benevento To Perform David Bowie LP Hunky Dory

Next month The Knitting Factory will present its Recovered series, taking place over three nights and showcasing musicians covering other artists’ albums live in their entirety. Keyboardist Marco Benevento has been tapped for one of the Recovered performances in which he will play David Bowie’s 1971 LP Hunky Dory from start to finish on Thursday, July 9. Joining Benevento that evening is opening act The Primate Fiasco who will recreate The Beatles record Magical Mystery Tour.
On Friday, July 10 The Dismemberment Plan’s Travis Morrison will perform Cure For The Pain by Morphine, former member of The Best Thing Ever, Emilyn Brodsky will play First Band on the Moon by The Cardigans and an all-star group featuring Dan Neustadt (The Hold Steady) and backed by Ben Rubin, John Bollinger, Peter Hess, Dana Lyn, Kenny Warren, Rick Snell and others will play Neutral Milk Hotel’s In The Aeroplane Over The Sea.
On Saturday, July 11 the Brooklyn venue will host The Sons & Heirs playing The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths and Rocket & The Ghost + Underground System recreating Remain In Light by Talking Heads.
