Shakira & Alejandro Sanz Reunite For ‘La Tortura’ & ‘Corazón Partío’ In Madrid

Shakira welcomed Alejandro Sanz on back-to-back nights at Estadio Shakira in Madrid on Friday and Saturday as the second weekend of her 12-show residency got underway. Sanz joined Shakira for their 2005 duet “La tortura” at both concerts and on Saturday stayed onstage for his own “Corazón partío.”

The residency is taking place at a temporary venue built within the Iberdrola Music grounds, with a capacity of more than 50,000 fans per night. The run, which began September 18, marks Shakira’s first concerts in Spain in eight years and serves as the final stretch of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.

Sanz is the second guest of the residency after Laura Pausini, who joined Shakira on September 20 for the first live duet of “Antología.” Shakira also welcomed guests at earlier tour stops, including a July show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn with Tyla, Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy.

Sanz contributed to the studio version of “La tortura” that appeared on Shakira’s 2005 album, Fijación Oral, Vol. 1. Sanz’s song “Corazón partío” was first introduced on his 1997 album, Más.

Shakira’s Madrid residency continues October 2 through 4 and October 9 through 11. Shakira will livestream her October 3 concert through Amazon Music, Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch beginning at 8:45 p.m. local time (2:45 p.m. ET), with a replay available for 24 hours.
