Margo Price Covers ‘Oval Room’ With Dave Matthews & Jesse Welles At Farm Aid

Margo Price welcomed Dave Matthews and Jesse Welles for a cover of Blaze Foley’s “Oval Room” to close her set at Farm Aid on Saturday. The annual benefit concert took place at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater, marking its first edition in Virginia Beach.

Price, a Farm Aid board member, played an eight-song set that opened with “About to Find Out” and “Hands of Time,” both from her 2016 debut album, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter. Price then honored Dolly Parton with a performance of the country legend’s “9 To 5.” “Tennessee Song,” also from Midwest Farmer’s Daughter, came next.

Price turned to Hard Headed Woman, her album released in August 2025 on Loma Vista Recordings, for its lead single “Don’t Let The Bastards Get You Down” and “Love Me Like You Used To Do.” A cover of John Prine’s “Your Flag Decal Won’t Get You Into Heaven Anymore” preceded the finale.

Matthews (a fellow Farm Aid board member) and Welles, both on the Farm Aid 2026 lineup, took the stage to accompany Price on “Oval Room.” Price recorded a version of “Oval Room” for her Days Of Unrest covers collection released earlier this year. The song, which has been part of Price’s recent live setlists, appeared on Foley’s 1984 self-titled album.
