A day after celebrating the release of Late Checkout at New York City’s Webster Hall, Karina Rykman made her full-band network television debut on CBS Saturday Morning. Rykman and her band played “Shoegaze Summer,” “Easy, Rider” and the title track for the September 26 “Saturday Sessions” broadcast.
Guitarist Adam November, drummer Chris Corsico and keyboardist Pete Miller joined the bassist and singer for the performances. All three songs appear on Late Checkout, Rykman’s second studio album, which arrived on September 25.
The previous night’s sold-out hometown show brought Robert Randolph onstage for “Spacecase,” another song from the new album. Additionally, Randolph returned for a closing cover of Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” alongside guests including Dogs in a Pile’s Brian Murray and Joe Babick. Guerilla Toss opened the Webster Hall show.
