Manu Chao confirmed his first album since 2007, Viva Tu, due out on September 20. Along with the announcement, Manu shared the single, “São Paulo Motoboy.”

“São Paulo Motoboy” follows Viva Tu’s title track which arrived last month. “Viva Tu” is “a heartfelt rumba dedicated to all the women in his neighborhood,” as per a press release. “São Paulo Motoboy” also carries a dedication to “all of the couriers in São Paulo risking their everyday lives as they ride their two-wheelers across the huge metropolis.”

“São Paulo is a breathing beast,” Manu said. “And the couriers are the blood running through its veins, keeping it alive.”

Manu is familiar with the occupation he honors on “São Paulo Motoboy” as he was a courier in his native Paris. Like the melting pot that is his new home of São Paulo, Viva Tu sees Manu singing in his signature multi-lingual format with songs in Spanish, French, Portuguese and English.
