Noah Kahan took a detour through Detroit on his way from a tour stop in Toronto on Friday and his performance yesterday at Bourbon & Beyond and attended The Lumineers concert on Saturday at Comerica Park. The home of Major League Baseball’s Detroit Tigers saw Kahan and The Lumineers team up on a pair of songs at the end of the latter’s headlining performance.
The Lumineers, who played Bourbon & Beyond on Thursday and were joined by Derek Trucks, are on an extensive tour in support of their fifth album, Automatic.
The band, co-led by guitarist/vocalist Wesley Schultz and multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah Fraites, brought out opener Chance Peña for “Charlie Boy” early into their performance at Comerica Park. Later they were joined onstage by the Tigers mascot Paws while they performed “Ophelia.”
The headliners enlisted the services of Noah Kahan at the end of their main set in Detroit. Kahan and The Lumineers were featured together on the track “Up All Night” from James Bay’s 2024 album, Changes All The Time.
Kahan first accompanied Fraites and Schultz in Detroit on a performance of “Dead Sea.” He stuck around to also add guitar and vocals to “Stubborn Love.” Both songs were recorded for The Lumineers’ 2012 self-titled debut album.
