Luke Temple Sits-In With Mike Gordon At The Capitol Theatre
By Andy Kahn Jun 28, 2015 • 8:24 am PDT

Mike Gordon brought his solo tour to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York last night. On the tour’s opening night the Phish bassist and his band covered Here We Go Magic’s “How Do I Know?” and last night founding guitarist Luke Temple joined Cactus on that song and the debut of another of his tunes.
Gordon led the band through a first set that included his solo work like “Andelmans’ Yard,” Phish’s “Spock’s Brain” and a cover of The Flaming Lips’ “Are You A Hypnotist?” Toward the end of a similarly structured second set, a microphone was set up and soon after guitarist Luke Temple of Here We Go Magic walked on stage to sing his “How Do I Know?” The set then ended with Gordon’s “Face” prior to Temple reemerging for the first song of the encore, the debut performance by Mike’s band of the Here We Go Magic song “Make Up Your Mind.” A rare-for-the-tour second encore song, “Sugar Shack” brought the night at The Cap to a close.
After the show at promoter Pete Shapiro’s venue the rest of the first Fare Thee Well concert was shown for fans to stick around and watch the show he also co-produced.
