Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real And Nikki Lane Cover The Band & Tom Petty In NYC

Last night, teamed up with Nikki Lane to play the Music Hall Of Williamsburg in New York City. The acts paired up for a collaborative encore featuring a tribute to The Band, as they just came off an appearance at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock. Nelson also worked a handful of Tom Petty covers into his set including one with Lane.

Lukas Nelson’s solo portion of the evening saw him treat the Brooklyn crowd to his stunning cover of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ “Breakdown.” Watch fan-shot footage of “Breakdown” captured by themeboudin:

Lane emerged during the set to duet with Lukas on “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.” For the encore, both acts teamed up to honor Levon Helm and The Band with covers of “Up On Cripple Creek” and “I Shall Be Released.”
