Lukas Nelson & Promise of The Real appeared on CBS This Morning. The band’s “Saturday Sessions” performance featured a trio of songs from their recently released album, A Few Stars Apart.

Frontman Lukas Nelson and POTR — drummer/percussion Anthony LoGerfo, bassist Corey McCormick, percussionist Tato Melgar and multi-instrumentalist Logan Metz — recorded the album with producer Dave Cobb at historic RCA Studio A in Nashville, where photos of Nelson’s father Willie Nelson hang on the walls. Lukas wrote most of the songs on A Few Stars Apart while quarantining last year during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“How I’m feeling influences what I write about,” Lukas Nelson said on The JamBase Podcast. “Unless I’m trying to write about a specific thing, usually it just comes out based on how I’m feeling at the moment. I just write my thoughts down and try and put a good hook to it.”
