Little Feat brought out singer-songwriter Leslie Mendelson and Greensky Bluegrass dobroist Anders Beck for guest spots during their Saturday evening set at Camp Greensky. Mendelson and Beck added to “Dixie Chicken” as part of a performance held on the final day of the festival at Shagbark Farm in Caledonia, Michigan.
Little Feat are currently celebrating the 45th anniversary of their iconic Waiting For Columbus live album. The band played the songs from Waiting In Columbus in the order presented on the live album as their Camp Greensky set. Little Feat’s latest lineup features longtime members bassist Kenny Gradney, percussionist Sam Clayton, multi-instrumentalist Fred Tackett and keyboardist Bill Payne augmented by drummer Tony Leone and guitarist Scott Sharrard. Additionally, The Midnight Ramble Horns contributed to most songs.
Leslie Mendelson and Anders Beck emerged towards the middle of Little Feat’s Camp Greensky set for a “Dixie Chicken” that nearly reached the 15-minute mark. Mendelson sang harmony while Beck shredded his dobro. Bill Payne returned the favor by joining Greensky Bluegrass for two songs later in the night.
