Since David Letterman began his run as host of Late Night in 1982 there are certain performers he’s forged relationships with leading to them making multiple appearances both on that show or during his time as host of The Late Show. Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Tom Waits is one of those artists as the reclusive singer-songwriter visited Letterman-hosted shows at least nine times since 1983. We’ve collected video featuring eight of those appearances including Waits’ finale last night.

On Thursday night Waits debuted a song called “Take One Last Look,” which has fitting lyrics considering Letterman will be retired within a week. Tom said “This one’s for you, Dave” before beginning the song:

2015 -Take One Last Look

1983 -Frank’s Wild Years, Interview & On The Nickel

1986 -Tango Till They’re Sore, Interview & Time

1987 -Interview, More Than Rain

1999 -Chocolate Jesus

2002 -All The World Is Green

2004 -Make It Rain

2006 -Lie To Me

2012 -Chicago
