[UPDATED] Leftover Salmon Welcomes Bill Kreutzmann At The Fillmore In San Francisco

Colorado jamgrass pioneers Leftover Salmon first played the historic Fillmore in San Francisco on July 8, 1995 and have performed at the venue many times since. The latest LoS concert at The Fillmore took place on Saturday night, when Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann sat-in with the band on two Grateful Dead classics.

Dead Winter Carpenters opened and welcomed special guests Andy Thorn and Pete Charles. Kreutzmann took the stage towards the end of the first set after an introduction from Vince Herman. Vince revealed, with help from Billy, that Kreutzmann is cooking up some sort of event for Inauguration Day on Friday. The drummer said “something’s gonna happen, that’s all I know.” Bill then got behind the kit to back Leftover Salmon on scorching renditions of “Playing In The Band” and “New Speedway Boogie.” Kreutzmann’s guest spot took place 50 years to the day after the famed Human Be-In at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park in 1967, an event that set the stage for the Summer Of Love.
