LCD Soundsystem Plays Second Reunion Show & Announces Red Rocks Concerts

LCD Soundsystem returned to Webster Hall in New York City Monday night to play the second of two warm-up reunion shows ahead of a number of appearances planned for later this year. The second performance by the band since breaking up in April 2011 stuck largely to the same script as the highly anticipated night prior.

Like Sunday night, LCD Soundsystem started Monday’s concert with “Get Innocuous!” followed by “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House.” Unlike the first show, Nancy Whang had no technical problems with her custom synth allowing the band to deliver “I Can Change” without issue. The rest of the set saw frontman James Murphy lead the group through a selection of songs from each of the band’s studio albums, incorporating the title track to 2007’s Sound Of Silver as well as “45:33 Part Four” from the 2006 45:33 release into last evening’s performance. The encore began with the addition of “Yr City’s A Sucker” which wasn’t played Sunday night, and concluded with “Dance Yrself Clean” and “All My Friends.”

LCD Soundsystem also revealed a pair of headlining shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on August 2 and 3. Savages and Museum of Love will open the concerts at the iconic outdoor venue. Tickets to both shows are available via this link.
