LCD Soundsystem returned to Webster Hall in New York City Monday night to play the second of two warm-up reunion shows ahead of a number of appearances planned for later this year. The second performance by the band since breaking up in April 2011 stuck largely to the same script as the highly anticipated night prior.
Like Sunday night, LCD Soundsystem started Mondayâs concert with âGet Innocuous!â followed by âDaft Punk Is Playing at My House.â Unlike the first show, Nancy Whang had no technical problems with her custom synth allowing the band to deliver âI Can Changeâ without issue. The rest of the set saw frontman James Murphy lead the group through a selection of songs from each of the bandâs studio albums, incorporating the title track to 2007âs Sound Of Silver as well as â45:33 Part Fourâ from the 2006 45:33 release into last eveningâs performance. The encore began with the addition of âYr City’s A Suckerâ which wasnât played Sunday night, and concluded with âDance Yrself Cleanâ and âAll My Friends.â
LCD Soundsystem also revealed a pair of headlining shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on August 2 and 3. Savages and Museum of Love will open the concerts at the iconic outdoor venue. Tickets to both shows are available via this link.
