Watch LCD Soundsystem Perform Holiday Special

LCD Soundsystem shared a video of their live debut of the 2015 single, “christmas will break your heart.” The performance was part of the concert film The LCD Soundsystem Holiday Special that premiered yesterday on the Amazon Music Twitch channel and Prime Video.

LCD Soundsystem’s performance of “Tonite” from their 2017 album American Dream was also posted. The band recorded the holiday special prior to canceling the remaining dates of their residency at Brooklyn Steel due to COVID-10 concerns. The concert film featured four additional songs from American Dream, as well as a pair from their 2005 self-titled debut and one from 2010’s This Is Happening.

Eric Wareheim (Tim & Eric) directed the special and starred in sketches as LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy. Others appearing included Christine Ko as keyboardist Nancy Whang, Macaulay Culkin as drummer Pat Mahoney, Tony Cavalero as synth player Nick Millhiser, Cory Loykasek as multi-instrumentalist Al Doyle, Aparna Nancherla as synth player Abby Echiverri, Jon Daly as bassist Tyler Pope, Rex Lee as band manager Brian Graf, Luenell as the band’s tour manager and Eric’s puppet as synth player Korey Richey.
