Kofi Baker, Malcolm Bruce & Will Johns Announce ‘The Music Of Cream’ North American Tour

Family of the original members of legendary rock band Cream will come together for a series of The Music Of Cream – 50th Anniversary World Tour performances in North America this fall. The trio features Ginger Baker’s son Kofi Baker, Jack Bruce’s son Malcolm Bruce and Eric Clapton’s nephew (by marriage) Will Johns. Baker, Bruce and Johns began the project with an inaugural tour across Australia and New Zealand last year.

Look for the three-piece to perform such Cream repertoire classics as “Sunshine Of Your Love,” “Crossroads,” “Spoonful” and “White Room” at each stop of the eight-week outing. The trio will “collaborate” with footage of their fathers and mentors as part of the multimedia concert experience, which will feature never-before-seen footage and photos.

“We had such an amazing response to our first tour in Australia and New Zealand that we’ve spent some considerable time adding to the show,” said Malcolm Bruce in a statement. “Now, we not only have this amazing legacy of music to play, but an opportunity to share some wonderful insights and stories with our audience…a backstage pass like no other, if you will.” Kofi Baker added, “We also have a few surprises in store that we know people are going to really respond to, so we can’t wait to be on the road again playing these shows across North America this fall.”

The tour begins at Centrepoint Theatre in Ottawa on September 28. From there, the trio plays a pair of shows in Quebec ahead of a New England run. Up next is a series of Northeast dates and a trip to the Midwest. The tour is currently slated to end at Bogarts in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 16.
