Kitchen Dwellers wrapped their spring tour with a three-night stand at Livingstonâs Pine Creek Lodge in their home state of Montana over the weekend. The Bozeman-born band welcomed members from fellow Montana bluegrass group The Lil Smokies for an extensive sit-in on Saturday including a Led Zeppelin classic and more.
KD kicked off the concert with âCovered Bridgesâ from their 2019 album, Muir Maid. The first set also saw a cover of Jimmy Buffettâs âA Pirate Looks at Forty.â
Toward the end of the first set, Kitchen Dwellers â banjo player Torrin Daniels, mandolinist Shawn Swain, guitarist Max Davies and bassist Joe Funk â welcomed Lil Smokies fiddler Jake Simpson for a cover of the 1972 Looking Glass hit, âBrandy (Youâre A Fine Girl).â Lil Smokiesâ dobro player Andy Dunnigan then got in on the action for KD favorite âGypsy.â Dunnigan and Simpson stayed on for a pairing of âWhitewaterâ and âTrudy.â

The fiddle and dobro players then sat in for the entire second set, which got underway with Muir Maidâs title track. The collab then transitioned into âUnwindâ off their new album, Seven Devils. Next came Led Zeppelinâs âGood Times Bad Times.â
âGood Times Bad Timesâ kicks off Led Zeppelin’s 1969 self-titled debut album and was also their debut single in the U.S. Daniels led the collab through the Zep favorite at Pine Creek Lodge with Davies channeling Jimmy Page on a blistering solo. Simpson and Dunnigan also swapped licks in a fiery exchange. Watch the collab on “Good Times Bad Times” below.
The band then finished up âUnwindâ and âMuir Maid.â The second set also saw renditions of Lil Smokies’ âCaliforniaâ and Kitchen Dwellers’ âStand At Ease.â Check those out.
Additionally, Dunnigan and Simpson sat in for the entire encore, kicking off with Seven Devils stand out âThe Crow and the Raven (III).â The encore continued with a cover of Sawyer Brownâs âSome Girls Doâ and closed with a rendition of The Bouncing Soulsâ âLean On Sheena.â
