Kings of Leon delivered a hometown show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Thursday. The familial rockers’ #songforthecity was a bust out cover of Robyn’s “Dancing on My Own.”
Kings of Leon — guitarist Caleb Followill, bassist Jared Followill, drummer Nathan Followill and guitarist Matthew Followill — have been touring extensively this year around their 2024 album, Can We Please Have Fun. With just a handful of dates left on the books, the band hit their hometown of Nashville last night offering six songs from their new record including concert and album opener “Ballerina Radio” as well as “Nowhere to Run,” “Mustang” and more.

Following Come Around Sundown (2010) favorite “Pyro,” Caleb addressed the audience.
“This song is…it’s not our song. [It’s] somebody else’s song, we’ve only sang [it] a couple of times. But we’re gonna try it again for you tonight. Let’s see how it goes, all right?”
The tune in question was “Dancing on My Own” by renowned Swedish artist Robyn. According to SetlistFM stats, Kings of Leon had only performed the Robyn cover once before in concert since premiering the song on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge in 2013. The Nashville #songforthecity — the band’s campaign to provide a fresh tune at each tour stop — marked the second in-concert performance and first play since 2014.

Kings of Leon also offered standouts from their acclaimed 2008 LP, Only by the Night, including Grammy-winning tracks “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody,” with the latter sealing the show. Next up for Kings of Leon is a concert in Chicago on Saturday (September 28). Scroll down for the band’s tour routing and ticket info.
