King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Continue ‘Alien Metal’ Rollout With Title Track & Australian Tour Announcement

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard offered another glimpse of their forthcoming 28th studio album, Alien Metal, today by releasing the record’s title track and an accompanying visualizer. The new single arrived alongside news of an October Australian tour that includes a late-night Sydney rave show and two curated Croxton Block Party events in Melbourne.

Alien Metal is set for release “later this summer” on p(doom) records. The eight-track effort builds on the electronic-focused direction developed by the band at recent “rave shows” and introduced on 2023’s The Silver Cord. King Gizz composed the material on the follow up to 2025’s Phantom Planet using “Nathan,” the group’s touring modular synthesizer.

After initially previewing the album with lead single “Level 5,” King Gizz has now dropped the techo-charged “Alien Metal.” The five-minute title track arrived with a visualizer created by longtime collaborator Jason Galea. Check it out below:

King Gizzard comes home to Australia for a string of newly announced shows following the band’s Fied Of Vision II Festival in Buena Vista, Colorado August 14 – 16 and four-night stand in New York City August 20 – 23.

The run begins with three shows over two days across two towns in New South Wales. Up first is a concert in Thirroul on October 13, which will be followed by two completely different shows in Sydney on October 14 at two venues separated by only a roadway. A full concert at Hordern Pavilion leads into a late-night rave at Liberty Hall. King Gizz then heads to Melbourne to headline the lineup they curated for The Croxton Black Party in their hometown on October 17 and 18.
