King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will embark on their first orchestral tour across the United States in 2025. The Aussie rockers shared a new orchestral single, “Phantom Island,” and confirmed Field Of Vision, a multi-night camping event in Colorado next summer.
KGLW’s 2025 Phantom Island Orchestral Tour will see the band backed by a different 28-piece orchestra in each city. The tour begins at TD Pavilion at the Mann in Philadelphia on July 28 with The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia joining King Gizz. The band will then perform at Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut on July 30 with accompaniment from Orchestra of St. Luke’s.

A two-show run at Forest Hills Stadium in Forest Hills, New York will see KGLW again joined by the Orchestra of St. Luke’s on August 1, followed by a “rock show” on August 2. The Phantom Island Orchestral Tour continues on August 4 with the National Symphony Orchestra at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
The Chicago Philharmonic will perform with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard on August 6 at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Illinois. The band will then make their first 2025 visit to Colorado to play with the Colorado Symphony on August 8 at Ford Amphitheater in Colorado Springs.
The Phantom Island Orchestral Tour wraps on August 11 at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park in San Diego with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra backing King Gizz. Conductor and music director Sarah Hicks will lead the orchestras in each city.
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will then return to Colorado to host Field Of Vision on August 15 – 17. The three-day camping and music festival will be held at Meadow Creek in Buena Vista, the site of Billy Strings’ recent Renewal events.
The Phantom Island Orchestral Tour and Field Of Vision will be KGLW’s only U.S. shows of 2025. Tickets go on sale on Friday, November 1 at 11 a.m. ET (Chicago tickets go on sale in March).
King Gizzard frontman Stu Mackenzie shared a statement regarding the new single, “Phantom Island”:
“Hello world. So our last album was 10 songs. Except we recorded 20 in that session. Here’s a track from the other set of 10. It’s even more maxxed out than the last one. There’s a whole fuckin’ orchestra on there. Hahahahahah! But for real, what a joy to be alive. A privilege to be making music for a living and to be here still after all these years. If you’ve been listening to Gizz for a long time, thank you. We love you so much. If you’re just tuning in, welcome to the cult.”
