Josh Ritter Details Fall Tour Supporting Upcoming New Album ‘I Believe In You, My Honeydew’

Josh Ritter revealed an extensive Fall Tour 2025 supporting his upcoming new album, I Believe In You, My Honeydew. The singer-songwriter shared a sample of the pending release via the lead single, “You Won’t Dig My Grave.”

Ritter’s 13th album, I Believe in You, My Honeydew comes out through Thirty Tigers on September 12. The 10-track effort was recorded with producer Sam Kassirer and Ritter’s Royal City Band composed of Kassirer on keyboards/accordion, Zachariah Hickman on bass/thumb piano/mandolin, Rich Hinman on guitar/pedal steel guitar/mandolin and Ray Rizzo on drums/percussion.

Ritter provided the statement below regarding I Believe in You, My Honeydew:

“I lived in the woods when I was a kid. I used to believe (and maybe I was right) that I could walk out of our front door, across the gravel road and, pointing myself north, I could walk to Canada, never once leaving the tree line. Wonder was a temple with no walls, and the Muse was still just a ripple in the ponderosas. I felt no fear.

“I’m 48 now. Decades have passed. There have been times I felt my inspiration, my Muse, had passed along with them. And then, not too long ago, I decided that instead of waiting for the Muse to write me a song, I would write the Muse a song instead. I started referring to my Muse as my Honeydew. And this album was born.

“The songs on Honeydew are songs for my Muse, my invisible and blinding companion of long-standing. I hope it enjoys them. I hope that it experiences a bit of what it’s like to be human, a bit of what it’s like to be lonely, scared, uncertain, joyful, righteous. I believe in you, my honeydew.”

Following previously announced shows in August, Ritter will tour in support of Honeydew across the United States throughout November. The run begins November 1 in Rochester, New York. Michigan shows follow on November 2 in Grand Rapids and November 3 in Ann Arbor.

Ritter then heads to Cincinnati on November 4 before making his way to St. Louis on November 6. Continuing through the Midwest, Chicago will host the singer-songwriter on November 7, followed by Minneapolis on November 8 and Des Moines, Iowa on November 9.

Heading east, Ritter takes the tour to Pittsburgh on November 12, Washington D.C. on November 13 and Philadelphia on November 14. The jaunt ends on November 16 in New York City.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 13.
