John Prine To Appear On ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ With Brandi Carlile & Sturgill Simpson

Famed singer-songwriter John Prine will release The Tree Of Forgiveness via his Oh Boy Records label on April 13. One night earlier, on April 12, the 71-year-old will perform on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert with Brandi Carlile and Sturgill Simpson.

Tree Of Forgiveness is Prine’s first album of new material in over 13 years. Carlile appears on the album as does Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, Dave Cobb (who also produced the LP) and members of the Illinois native’s longtime backing band. John Prine recorded the album in Nashville with Cobb at the historic RCA Studio A. Prine’s tour includes a stop at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 13 featuring Sturgill Simpson.

John Prine made his The Late Show With Stephen Colbert debut back in September of 2016. He performed “I’m Telling You” off For Better, Or Worse from a 2016 album of classic country songs. Prine also teamed with Stephen Colbert for “That’s The Way The World Goes Round,” watch:
